Kilnhurst Tyres was opened in 1989 by Peter Hunt. Peter had just left the mining business after its closure and wanted to open a garage somewhere with the mining community spirit. Peter’s nephew, Keith, then joined Peter and between them, they ran the garage in Rotherham together for many years.

In 1995, Peter’s son, Neil, then joined the family business as a tyre fitter. Over the years, Neil learnt the ropes and slowly worked his way up through the business. Today, he runs the business alongside his Dad, making a great team between them with a strong working ethic.

Kilnhurst Tyres was initially a tyre and exhaust Rotherham garage, but over the 30 years we have expanded our services and the work we now offer has accelerated massively. In addition to becoming a fully qualified and registered MOT centre, as well as a key dealer and Centre of Excellence for Maxxis Tyres, our services include:
